Happy birthday to me!

November 27th, 2007

Yup, today is my birthday. I am now in my late 20′s (gasp!) As my friends say, I should just keep telling everyone I’m 21, and no one will know the difference =) My Geek gave me a wonderful birthday gift, a very beautiful watch! Now I just have to figure out what to give for his birthday right around the corner.

Mmm, cookies

November 26th, 2007

The office I’m working at currently is right next to a bakery. In the afternoons, the smell of baked goods somehow wafts over the air system and floods the office with the smell of all manner of baked goods…cookies…mm..cakes…muffins… Smells so good! I think when I have my own office, I’ll have to find one next to a bakery. It’s better than any air freshener out there!

San Diego Fires

October 22nd, 2007

We’ve been safely evacuated from our home and are now staying down at Tony’s parents house. Thank you for all your calls and well wishes!

Happy Earth Day!

April 23rd, 2007

That is all.

Save the Polar Bears!

February 16th, 2007

Because they’re cute and majestic and scary all at the same time, and I like them. The World Conservation Union (IUCN) is predicting a 30 percent reduction in polar bear numbers in the next 45 years. (Boo)

You can go here: Send Letter and send a letter of support to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Thanks!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

February 14th, 2007

I just wanted to say Happy Valentine’s Day. And thank you to my geek for sending me a beautiful bouquet of roses! It was a surprise this year because I wasn’t expecting anything since we’ve been saving for wedding expenses. They’re absolutely gorgeous and smell gorgeous too. Just wanted to share. =)

I’m Nesting

February 5th, 2007

Yup. Yesterday, my Geek and I headed out to the mall to order the Tux rentals for the wedding. (You can read more about it on our other site). Afterwards, we were browsing through the mall when Tony said we must go into the Bombay Company Store (as well as the Sears tool Dept. :) ) There happened to be a dresser that I liked on display. Plus, it was on sale because it was the store model! After some debating, going to Sears, then going back to Bombay to inspect the unit further, I decided it was a good buy and bought it. We brought it back to the condo and after some huffing and puffing we got it up the stairs and into it’s propper spot. Hoorray for new furniture! Tony told his mom about the purchase, and she determined that I’m nesting. (BTW, his socks fill the whole first drawer! :) )

Big Day Planning

January 25th, 2007

Now that the date is picked and procrastination put aside, planning is going pretty smoothly for our wedding. So far, we’ve already reserved a reception site and music band, and also picked up our wedding bands. The rings we still need to get engraved; we’re still deciding on what to write in them (Suggestions welcome :) ) We also already have a budget and guest list outlined. Things left to go: Photographer, Invitations, Colors Scheme (Bridesmaid dresses), Reception Favors, Bouquets… Tony’s currently working on getting the Tuxedo’s reserved, and I’ve been trying on wedding gowns (Fun!) so we’ll get that squared away soon! Check out our site at SusanAndTony.com for more details!

Snow Day in Austin

January 19th, 2007

My mom and I have been visiting my sister here for the last few days, hanging out with her and my 3 nephews, and one niece. It was a nice little visit…until the weather started turning cold and Austin had it’s big winter storm of the year. Apparently, this kind of weather happens once a year here, but this year it’s exceptional. The locals who’ve lived here for decades say it’s the worst winter storm they’ve experienced. First there was rain. Then there were freezing temperatures that turned all the water on the ground to ice. Then the freezing temperatures continued as a wintry mix fell over the region. (Wintry mix = Sleet/Rain/Snow/Hail one or all at the same time.) We ended up not getting out of there until 2 days after scheduled, and there was still ice on the bridges and overpasses! Next time, I’ll visit in summertime ;)

We have a date!!
